Honduras will open its embassy in Jerusalem at the end of this month

The Hebrew newspaper, Israel Hayom , reported today, Wednesday, that the Latin American country of Honduras will open its embassy in Jerusalem, at the end of June, to be the fourth embassy to open in Jerusalem

The newspaper reported that Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez will arrive on an official visit to Israel after three weeks, during which he will inaugurate his country’s embassy in occupied Jerusalem , after pledging to do so before the AIPAC 2019 committee.

The Hebrew newspaper indicated that Honduras will be the fourth country after the United States, Guatemala and Kosovo, and that the President of Honduras had previously agreed with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, that in exchange for the opening of an Israeli embassy in Taguslepa, the capital of Honduras, the Latin country will open its embassy in the city of Jerusalem. 

The newspaper pointed out that the political crisis in Israel has caused many delays, including the inability of some Israeli ambassadors to officially take up their positions, among them the appointed Israeli ambassador to Honduras, Eldad Golan, who began assuming his duties as Chargé d’Affairs in Honduras, and not as a recognized ambassador. with it
