Passengers trapped in the “train of death” for hours after a sudden stop at a sharp angle

Over a dozen people visiting Six Flags Fiesta, Texas over the Memorial Day weekend, got stuck in a “death train” when it suddenly stopped, forcing the emergency personnel to help disembark them.

The park’s management confirmed the accident in a statement, saying the death train “stopped in the middle of a riding cycle,” but there were no reports of injuries. Individuals were stuck upright, but the train contained multiple loops where the cycle could also have stopped upside down

Several fire and rescue crews were called to the scene to help park staff, trying to disembark 20 passengers.

All passengers were safely rescued more than three hours later. The malfunctioning train of death will remain closed while the investigation is underway.

The incident comes on the heels of a slight increase in travel across the country, as many companies have updated their Covid protocols to align with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announcement this month that people who have fully received the vaccine can stop wearing Masks and social distancing outdoors and indoors.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas was one of many companies trying to revert back to the past, on Memorial Day weekend, and even posted an ad on Twitter about its dangerous games at the same time the Death Train was disrupted on Saturday.

And last week, the park administration announced that it had dropped mandates of masks for customers and employees, who had received the vaccine completely. In the statement, it also eliminated other epidemic-era protocols, such as temperature checks and advanced registration requirements.

After the announcement, the department also tried to entice customers to visit by offering 20,000 free one-day cards to people who could prove they had a COVID-19 vaccine.
