Asian blind climbing Mount Everest

As the first blind person in Asia, and the third in the world, 46-year-old Chinese Zhang Hong, the highest peak in the world from the Nepalese side, climbed Mount Everest in the Himalayas.

In a statement to Reuters, Zhang Hong said: “No matter whether you are disabled or normal, whether you have lost your eyesight, hands or legs, it does not matter as long as you have a sound mind, you can always complete something that others cannot do. with it”.

It should be noted that Zhang completed the climb of the 8,849-meter mountain on May 24 and returned to his base camp last Thursday.

Born in Chongqiang, southwest China, Zhang lost his sight at the age of 21 due to glaucoma.
