The director of the government media office in the Gaza Strip, Salameh Maarouf, announced that the losses of the Israeli bombing that continued for more than a week on the Gaza Strip amounted to 244 million dollars, indicating that the Israeli raids destroyed 73 government offices and targeted water and sewage networks.
Jerusalem – Sputnik. Maarouf said in a press conference that “the losses from the bombing of the occupation are close to 244 million dollars,” adding, “The occupation destroyed 73 government headquarters and water and sewage networks.”
He continued, “The occupation targeted Al-Rimal Clinic to obstruct medical care.”
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees, “UNRWA”, said in a statement that “more than 38 thousand people have sought refuge in 48 UNRWA schools in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the intense artillery and air strikes launched by the Israeli army in separate areas of the Strip.”
The spark of the escalating events had erupted in clashes between the Palestinians and the Israeli forces, due to the incursions and closures of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem, since the beginning of the last month of Ramadan.
In addition, Israeli attempts were made to displace Palestinian families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, in a move condemned by the international community, as violating international laws.
