Germany announced that it pledged to provide 40 million euros (about 48 million dollars and 860 thousand) to enhance the humanitarian aid provided to civilians in the Gaza Strip, where more than 52 thousand Palestinians have been displaced from their homes.
“Today, I seek to provide better support to Gaza,” German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said today, Tuesday, ahead of a meeting with his counterparts from the European Union to discuss the situation in Israel and Gaza, adding that Germany will provide 40 million euros.
At the same time, Maas denounced the rocket attacks launched by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) from Gaza against Israel, and stressed the right of Israel to defend itself.
