The Associated Press calls for an investigation into an Israeli raid that targeted a building housing its office in the Gaza Strip

The American Associated Press called for an independent investigation into the Israeli air raid that targeted a building housing its office and the offices of other media outlets in the Gaza Strip.

Sally Bazby, the agency’s executive editor, called for an independent investigation into the Israeli air strike that targeted and destroyed the Al-Galaa building, which housed the agency’s headquarters and other media headquarters in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the public has the right to know the facts.

“The Israeli government has not yet provided clear evidence to support its attack, which destroyed the 12-storey Al-Galaa tower,” Bazby said.

She added, “The Associated Press office has been in Burj al-Galaa for 15 years and has not been informed, and there was no indication of the possibility of a Hamas office in the building,” stressing the need to clarify the facts.

And she continued, “We are in a state of conflict .. We do not take sides in this conflict .. We heard Israelis say that they have evidence .. We do not know what this evidence is .. We think that it is appropriate at this stage to have an independent view of What happened yesterday. ”

The Israeli army, which gave Associated Press journalists and other renters an hour to vacate the building, claimed that Hamas was using the building as a headquarters for military intelligence and weapons development.

“Israel is gathering evidence to present it to the United States,” said IDF Colonel Jonathan Conricus, but he declined to declare a commitment to present that evidence within the next two days.
