The Chinese Foreign Ministry responds to the British accusations against Beijing of carrying out cyber attacks

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Hua Chunying, announced that China denies accusations made by London against Beijing of financing cyber pirates to carry out cyber attacks on other countries.
In response to the statement of the British Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, who mentioned China among the countries that carry out cyber attacks on other countries, Chunning said: “We drew attention to the statements in this regard. True – London claims that the Chinese government funds cyber pirates to carry out cyber attacks. This is an extremely irresponsible practice of arbitrary distortion of other countries, which the Chinese side strongly opposes. ”

She also noted that China has always stressed that cybersecurity is the challenge that all countries face, which must ensure the peace and security of cyberspace through dialogue and joint cooperation.

She added, “The politicization and ideology of cybersecurity will not help in strengthening it. Rather, it will harm mutual trust between countries, and poison the atmosphere of international cooperation in cyberspace.”

She added, at the same time, that Britain has developed in recent years its offensive capabilities in cyberspace, which will undoubtedly lead to a high risk of conflicts in it, describing these actions as the real threat to cyberspace.

She said, “We call on Britain to think and contribute more of its share in cooperation and to ensure the peace and security of cyberspace, and not the other way around.”
