The Palestinian Red Crescent announces the death toll from the events in Jerusalem during one night

The Palestinian Red Crescent announced that 17 Palestinians were injured during clashes with the occupation, tonight, in a number of Jerusalem neighborhoods.

This was reported by the Palestinian “Wafa” agency, today, Saturday, noting that the confrontations included the vicinity of Bab al-Amud, Bab al-Sahira, Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, Bab al-Asbat, and Hatta in occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Red Crescent stated, in a statement, that 6 wounded were taken to the hospital, most of them were shot by rubber bullets, indicating that the occupation did not allow ambulances to enter the vicinity of Al-Amoud Gate, despite the presence of dozens of injuries.

Yesterday evening, Friday, the Israeli police stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, fired tear gas canisters and attacked the worshipers inside it, as well as the demonstrators in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and Bab Al-Amud in occupied Jerusalem.

These confrontations resulted in the injury of 205 Palestinians, according to what was reported by the Palestine Red Crescent Society, while 17 Israeli policemen were injured in the confrontations, according to a police statement.

Since the beginning of the month of Ramadan, Palestinian youth have been protesting against being prevented from sitting on the runway of “Damascus Gate”, which sparked violent confrontations with the Israeli police.

As for the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, it has been witnessing for more than 10 days, confrontations between the Israeli police and Palestinian residents of the neighborhood, and in solidarity with them. Palestinians in the neighborhood are protesting against decisions issued by Israeli courts to evacuate Palestinian families from homes built in 1956.
