Trump launches a new platform to communicate with his followers

On Tuesday, former US President Donald Trump launched a new way to communicate with his followers, after Facebook blocked his account for months and permanently banned him from Twitter.

Trump’s new platform bears the name “From The Disc of Donald Trump” and promotes itself through a 30-second video as a “beacon of freedom” and a “place to talk freely and safely.”
Supporters of the president and followers of his new platform can admire Trump’s posts, in addition to reposting them on Facebook and Twitter, but users are not allowed to comment on or interact with posts, according to Politico.

On Wednesday, the Facebook censorship board is expected to announce whether or not Trump will be allowed to return to the stage.

Trump’s previous favorite platform, Twitter, had permanently blocked his account after the January 6 revolt at the Capitol, while Facebook chose to leave the door open to the possibility of reclaiming its page.

Trump has recently begun to bolster his public presence, both in terms of statements made by his office and the number of interviews he gave to friendly conservative media, according to The Hill.

And his allies are intensifying another attempt to oust Representative Liz Cheney, who voted to impeach Trump after the Capitol events and is still a strong critic of the Republican flag bearer from her Republican leadership position in the House of Representatives.

The former president has pledged to remain a strong influence in the Republican Party, and has not ruled out running for a third presidential election, which is considered a departure from other presidents who usually back out of politics after their time in the White House.
