To facilitate transportation in the city … the Jerusalem municipality provides bicycles for rent

Today, Sunday, the Jerusalem municipality announced that bicycles will soon be available for rent at 25 stations across the city, as part of a new transportation service.

According to the “Jerusalem Post” newspaper, the first phase of the project will include 120 bicycles with electric motors, as well as 80 other bicycles without motors.
The cost of renting a bike for users will be 4 shekels, in addition to 20 agora for each minute taken by a regular bike, and 60 agora for each minute that is taken by electric bicycle.

The bicycle services will be available with subscriptions for a period of three months and another for a year, as the cost of the three-month subscription will amount to 132 shekels, and the cost of the year subscription is 360 shekels.

The newspaper stated that bike rental options will be available through the service’s website or mobile application.

“We are in the final stages of launching the (Jerovan) project, the municipal bike rental project, which aims to change traffic patterns in the heart of the city and give a real opportunity to move from one place to another without the need to use vehicles,” the newspaper quoted Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion as saying.

He added, “The municipality will continue to improve and facilitate the infrastructure so that all residents and visitors of the city benefit from it.”
