YouTube has increased the ability to control the quality of video clips on smartphones, by adding two new options.
The “The Verge” website stated that the first option, which is higher picture quality, is to display the videos in high quality.
The second, data saver, is intended to display videos via the YouTube app, with lower quality, to save mobile internet consumption.
The first option allows playing videos with a minimum resolution of 720 pixels, while the second option allows playing videos with a maximum resolution of 480 pixels.
The two new resolution services for the YouTube smartphone app are available for Android and iOS.
Earlier, YouTube launched the “YouTube Kids” application, in the Arabic language, in 15 countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
According to “Reuters”, “YouTube Kids” is an independent application for viewing video recordings that provides various content for children under the age of thirteen.
The app also provides a set of easy-to-use parental control and management tools to enable each family to choose the settings that suit their children.
The most important tool in this application is “Screen Time”, which allows parents to limit how long their children are allowed to watch videos.
Tariq Abdullah, Regional Director of Marketing in the Middle East and North Africa at Google, said in a statement that the “YouTube Kids” application helps every family in responding to the interests and curiosity of their children.
He explained that the application provides a set of parental controls, with the aim of obtaining a special experience that meets the needs of the family.
