Sony unveils a new wearable air conditioner

Sony has launched a new wearable air conditioner that can cool or heat the human body and can also be controlled through a smartphone app.

The technical site “Ingadget” said that Sony called the air conditioner the Reon Pocket 2, which is somewhat similar to the original Reon Pocket model that it launched last year after it was funded collectively through the company’s platform.

The newly designed internal parts of the new air conditioner achieve double the level of heat absorption, which leads to a more powerful cooling performance, despite its small size and light weight.

And stainless steel is used in the manufacture of the new air conditioner, which makes it have high strength and facilitates the transfer of cold, for cold and hot parts that come into contact with the surface of the body, and Sony has improved the resistance to sweat in the second generation of the product, making it more suitable for light exercise situations.

The air conditioner can be worn with a special undershirt to make summer commuting more bearable, but Sony emphasizes more diverse use cases, particularly golf, outdoor activities and business.

Sony has also designed a neck strap attachment so that the air conditioner can be used with normal clothes, after you had to buy a set of undershirts with pockets from Sony.

It is reported that the Reon Pocket 2 was launched in Japan at a price of 14,850 yen (equivalent to about $ 138).
