According to Anadolu Agency, the Istanbul Public Prosecutor has opened an investigation against the Turkish cryptocurrency exchange Thodex.
Lawyer Abdullah Asami Kiran filed a criminal complaint against the founder and CEO of the platform, Faruk Ozer, who indicated some reports of his departure from the country to Thailand, while other reports spoke of his travel to Albania.
According to Kiran’s statements, the platform has 400,000 members, including 390,000 active members in trading operations.
And the agency “Bloomberg” that the platform suddenly stopped its work on Wednesday, due to what it said was an unspecified partnership deal.
The Thodex platform is one of many local platforms that Turks use to invest in crypto assets as they seek to hedge against fluctuations in the local currency and high inflation.
