Liam Payne shocks fans by painting amazing portrait of Prince Philip as he is laid to rest at funeral

As Prince Philip’s funeral was aired live on television, Liam Payne showed off an incredible painting he created in tribute to him.

The singer, who recently said he’s closer than ever with ex Cheryl, took to Instagram and Twitter to share the portrait with his fans.

The watercolour portrait showed Prince Philip wearing his military unform as well as a chest full of medals.

He captioned it: “Rest in peace HRH Prince Philip, finished this off whilst listening to your life what a great legacy left behind.”

Liam’s fans couldn’t get over how incredible the painting was and took to the comments section to share their views.

One Instagram user commented: “gosh Liam, is there even one thing that you can’t do.”

Another loyal fan gushed: “Liam you are fantastic omg, you are good at everything.”

A third added: “You’re extremely talented,” while a fourth penned: “You are an amazing artist!!,” alongside two red heart emojis.

Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99 on 9 April and was laid to rest at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday afternoon.

As well as Liam, 27, other celebrities took to their social media accounts and paid tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh.

Kylie Minouge, 52, led the tributes as she shared a photo standing next to the late Duke of Edinburgh.

Piers Morgan shared a photo of the Queen and Prince Philip when they were younger, alongside a more recent one.

The TV presenter, wrote: “Thinking of The Queen today as she says goodbye to the love of her life.”

The Queen, who shared a smiling picture with Prince Philip, sat on her own during the service as a result of the Coronaviurs rules, with many famous faces finding the situation heartbreaking for Her Majesty.

Fearne Cotton said: “The shots on the BBC of Her Majesty The Queen alone are breaking my heart in two. A beautiful ceremony. A long, amazing life celebrated so perfectly.”

Piers Morgan shared a picture of the Queen sat alone alongside a crying emoji, while This Morning’s Ruth Langsford wrote: “My heart is breaking for her. RIP Prince Philip.”
