New studies revealed the existence of a type of spider on the surface of Mars, despite the absence of life from it, which surprised researchers and prompted them to conduct studies about it to find out what it is.

This type is called “Aranian forms,” which are spider-like systems made up of branched fractal basins, according to the scientific site “ibelieveinsci”.

After the study, it was found that these spider-like shapes were formed by the phenomenon of direct sublimation of frozen carbon dioxide gas, according to a hypothesis known as the “Kiefer hypothesis.”

It is known that Mars is very similar to the planet Earth, and it enjoys high temperatures during the spring and summer seasons. This is what made the geophysicist “Hugh Kiefer” assumed that during the spring on the surface of Mars, the sublimation of carbon dioxide occurs.

And about the phenomenon of sublimation, it is the transfer of carbon from the gaseous state to the frozen state without passing through the liquid state, and when this phenomenon occurs the gas expands due to the heat and the resulting pressure builds up, causing cracks in the ice sheets, forming ventilation holes that allow the gas to pass through them, forming such spider-like shapes on the surface Mars.

The team concerned with the study of the phenomenon used some experiments related to Kiefer’s theory by relying on a sheet of dry ice in a room with low pressure, and with the puncture of the used glass plate and placing it on a surface covered with dust and dirt, it began to sublimate, and with the lifting of the ice sheet from the surface, a system similar to a spider appeared on a board That ice.

With the repetition of the process, the researchers found that the “Kiefer” hypothesis is the hypothesis that is closest to what is related to the Aranian shapes that exist on Mars, indicating that the process of sublimation of carbon gas may create other dimensions with it. They also emphasized the necessity of following up the events associated with the seasonal processes occurring on the planet in general.
