A supermodel gets $ 30 million for a cake

A family of a model who suffered brain damage from a serious allergic reaction to pretzels with peanut butter has gotten close to $ 30 million.

The Chantel Giacalloni family was paid $ 29.5 million last Friday when a jury found the responding ambulance service treated them negligently in 2013, Las Vegas newspaper reported.

“At least now, my daughter is getting the necessary care. I’m happy about that,” her father, Jacques Giacalone, said after the court ruled.

In 2013, the 27-year-old Gacleoni fell into an allergic shock after eating a cake containing peanuts, and paramedics did not have the necessary treatment at that time, resulting in the young model suffering brain damage.

Giakaloni, now 35, is quadriplegic, eats through a tube and can only communicate with her eyes.
