On Thursday (April 1st), the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Moscow, Dr. Ahmed Al-Wahaishi, in the building of the Embassy of Yemen in Russia, inaugurated a photo exhibition highlighting the humanitarian crisis in the country.
In the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the ambassador said, “The last 6 years witnessed the siege of residential neighborhoods, villages, cities and governorates as a whole. The dimensions of the disaster afflicting our country can be seen by looking at the photo exhibition held by the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen.”
The ambassador conveyed to the guests the message sent by the President of the Republic, Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, indicating that the political leadership supports the efforts made by the international community to restore peace to Yemen despite the instability of government institutions ’work against the backdrop of the political-military crisis.
It is noteworthy that the exhibition includes a section on “Crimes against Peaceful Residents”, a section “Elimination of Schools and Urban Infrastructure,” and a section on “Military Risks”.
The embassy extended an invitation to attend the exhibition to students of the Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO).
It is noteworthy that 80% (24 million people) of the Yemeni population are in need of humanitarian aid, according to the United Nations. The number of refugees has reached 3 million.
