Sophia, the famous robot, sold a self-created digital painting a few days ago for $ 688,000 at auction.
According to the American magazine Popular Mechanics, Sophia mixed some of her paintings with the works of Italian digital artist Andrea Bonassetto and resulted in a 12-second video entitled “Sophia Instantiation” showing the evolution of Bonassetto’s work slowly changing with those of Sophia.

According to the site, the robot entered into a partnership with Bonasito, who said he wanted to devise a “new way” to create digital panels that would allow robots to collaborate with humans to improve and integrate each other.
For her part, Sophia commented, “To create digital paintings, we use transformer networks, genetic algorithms, and other types of computational creativity.”
Worth noting is still a buyer, who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on artwork.
