The Biden administration is in no rush to withdraw its soldiers from Syria

According to a report published by “American Military News” that the administration of US President Joe Biden does not seem to be in a hurry to withdraw the 900 American soldiers still in Syria.

The report said that White House officials consider that “keeping this relatively small number close to the oil and gas fields in the south and east of the country aims to prevent the return of ISIS control in those areas, or even the return of the Syrian regime’s control, with Russian and Iranian support, to control the oil and gas fields.”

The report quotes the statements of Robert Ford, the US ambassador to Syria during the era of former US President Barack Obama, as saying that “Biden should withdraw the remaining forces that helped the Syrian Democratic Forces create a semi-independent region in the northeast of the country.”

He believed that “ISIS has been contained to a large extent, and it is not in a position to threaten the interests of the United States or even send fighters to Europe.”
