The Circus of Kazan, Russia, witnessed a second incident within one week, after one of the elephants participating in the “Elephants and Circus Magic” show attacked an employee.
A spokesman for the government of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan told the Russian “Novosti” agency that an employee of the circus approached one of the elephants participating in the show and surprised him with his aggressive behavior, then attacked him and wounded him with moderate severity injuries in the back and arm. The employee was transferred to Kazan Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The circus administration confirmed the occurrence of the incident without revealing its details.
It is noteworthy that, last week, the Kazan City Circus witnessed a fight between two villagers, which went outside the circuit’s borders, which sparked panic among the crowd and people fled the circus.
The Kazan Circus website reported that the circus administration had changed the circus program and canceled the show “Elephants, Circus Magic” for aggressive behavior by one of the elephants participating in the show.
