A sudden collapse of a highway in Turkey, as a result of heavy rain falling on it.

According to the Turkish newspaper Zaman, the Düzce-Zonguldak highway built by Limak Corporation collapsed in 2012.

The newspaper said that the collapse occurred as a result of torrential rain in the area, as the sides of the road cracked, and after the rain continued, the road from Kasakoga to Duzce completely collapsed at night.

She explained that highway officials have conducted checks on the road, to find the cause of the collapse, and to address it.

It is noteworthy that the Duzce-Zonguldak highway is one of the crossing roads that connects Duzce with the Black Sea.The Turkish newspaper quoted opponents as confirming that the director of the Limak company that carried out the collapsed road is one of five businessmen who won almost all the big bids during the rule of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and they are: Mehmet Genghis, Chairman of the Genghis Holding Company, Nihat Ozdemir, CEO of the company.

Limak Holding, Mohamed Nazif Gonal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MG Holding, Nasi Kuloglu, CEO of Colin Construction, and President of the Kaylon Construction Company, Jamal Kalyonko, said the newspaper.It is worth noting that the city of Duzce is considered one of the cities that tourists visit annually; It is one of the cities of North Anatolia, located northwest of Turkey, overlooking the Black Sea, two hundred and fifteen square kilometers from Istanbul, the capital, and its population is estimated at sixty thousand people, and the city has seven villages belonging to it, namely: Akshakoga, Chlemli and Gumyari, Gumushova, Yigilja, Guliaka, and Kinaashli, whose most famous agricultural products are: wheat, tobacco, corn, and walnuts.
