A painting by famous painter Vincent Van Gogh depicting a street in Paris and has been in private collections for more than a hundred years sold at a final price of 11.25 million euros (13.2 million dollars) on Thursday.
The sale took place after the painting was re-auctioned for the second time.
Sotheby’s officials did not yet explain why the painting “Street Scene in Münmater” was being auctioned off after it sold for 14 million euros earlier in the day.
Sotheby’s has set the value of the painting “Street Scene in Münmater” between five and eight million euros.
The painting dates back to 1887, when Van Gogh was staying with his brother Teo in the French capital.
