American actor George Segal dies at 87

American actor George Segal, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, has passed away at the age of 87.

His wife, Sonia Sejal, said in a statement on Tuesday: “With hearts squeezed in pain, the family announces the news of George Segal’s death this morning as a result of complications from surgery to remove a coronary artery blockage.”

Seagal was famous for his altercations with Richard Burton in the movie (He’s Afrid of Virginia Woolf) “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”, and his love for Glinda Jackson in the movie (Attach of Class) “A Touch of Class”, as well as grabbing laughter in the sitcom series (The Goldbergs).
