6 border guards were killed in an explosion in western Afghanistan

Six Afghan border guards were killed as a result of a mine explosion on a road in Herat Province, western Afghanistan, according to the local TV channel “Taloo News”.
The channel reported that the explosion occurred on the Herat-Troandi highway in the Sankei Robot stall, on Sunday afternoon.

“Taloo News” quoted the governor of Herat, Wahid Qatali, as saying that a “Humvee” vehicle belonging to the security forces hit a mine planted beside the road, killing 6 border guards, including the commander of the 5th Frontier Brigade, Diaa Khan.

No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion so far.
