The arrest of former soldiers from the Bashir regime, accused of the “28 Ramadan Movement” massacre in Sudan
Sources at the Sudanese Ministry of Justice told Al-Sharq that the authorities had arrested a number of former military personnel accused in the case of the “28 Ramadan Movement” massacre.
The sources indicated that one of the most prominent soldiers in the case is the former director of intelligence in Omar al-Bashir’s regime, Lieutenant General Siddiq Amer.
Former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir had ordered the execution of 28 officers on charges of plotting a coup attempt in 1990, and months ago, the authorities revealed the location of the officers ’cemetery.
