British health authorities: The AstraZeneca vaccine does not cause blood clots

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency in Britain announced that it did not identify any evidence indicating that the “AstraZeneca” vaccine against the Coronavirus that causes “Covid-19” infection causes blood clots.

In a statement issued today, Thursday, the agency said: “After a careful scientific study of all the available information … the existing evidence does not indicate that the occurrence of blood clots in the veins is caused by the AstraZeneca vaccine to prevent Covid-19.”

She added: “An additional detailed review is underway in what we have reported about five cases in Britain, which were affected by a very rare and specific type of blood clots in the brain veins and with a decrease in the number of platelets.

A group of European Union countries, including France, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain, had previously suspended the approval of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine, due to information indicating possible side effects related to blood clots discovered in the vaccines.
In light of these developments, the WHO Vaccine Safety Committee said that the feasibility of using the “AstraZeneca” vaccine outweighs its risks, and recommended that immunization be continued.
