Marek Kachmar, head of the office of former Polish president Lech Walesa, announced that he had undergone a successful heart surgery.
Kachmar added that the Nobel Prize winner and long-term president of the Polish “Solidarity” union, was rushed to the hospital on March 14, after problems with his heart rhythm appeared.
He continued, “The president underwent surgery and woke up after anesthesia, and at this moment he is at rest.”
“We all hope that everything will be fine in the future,” he said.
Lech Walesa, 77, was president of Poland from 1990 to 1995.
