Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on an exhibition party organized by a Bulgarian journalist with his friends in front of the Ministry’s headquarters in Moscow in order to meet her.
“What can I say? I think men should control their emotions,” Zakharova said in a press statement she made on the air on Saturday.
Earlier, a security source reported that the police had detained in front of the Russian Foreign Ministry building four people, including the Bulgarian journalist Boris Anzov, wearing folkloric clothes and carrying fake weapons, who had come to “present a marriage proposal” to Zakharova, adding that one of the men was riding a horse.
According to the source, according to the TASS news agency, the Bulgarian journalist explained during a conversation at the police station that he came to present a “marriage proposal” to Zakharova, while Anzov himself wrote on “Instagram” that he intended to congratulate Zakharova on the March 8th Women’s Day, and added: “But Zakharova did not go out, so we fired shots and danced and left. ”
The police fined Anzov of 500 rubles (about $ 7).
Zakharova said she learned of the incident “at a later time from her colleagues and bodyguards”.
It is noteworthy that Zakharova and Anzov know each other, and the Bulgarian journalist previously presented a gift to the Russian official in the form of a traditional Bulgarian dress, and Zakharova expressed on Twitter her admiration for the gift.
