British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that his government is developing a comprehensive new approach to strengthening the UK’s cybersecurity capabilities.

In a statement issued today, Sunday, Johnson confirmed that this new approach will come within the integrated review of the national security strategy to be published this week, stressing that this approach will enhance the ability of the United Kingdom to protect its citizens and advance its interests in various parts of the world and “improve the lives of Britons day after day.” “.

He pointed out that today cyber capabilities are revolutionizing people’s lives and methods of managing wars, like what aviation did 100 years ago, adding that Britain needs to enhance its capabilities in this field so that it can take advantage of the opportunities available there and ensure the country’s security in the face of any hostile cyber activities.

Johnson confirmed that the British national cyber force, which was formed last year, would be based in the north of England, with the establishment of what he described as a “cyber corridor” that would transform this region into a global center in the field of cybersecurity.

The Prime Minister stated that this measure will contribute to the development of the technological, digital and defense sector outside the capital, London, and will help establish new partnerships between the government, the private sector and universities in the region.

The statement pointed out that the national cyber force, which includes personnel from the defense and intelligence services, was established with the aim of developing the country’s capabilities “to carry out offensive operations against terrorists, hostile countries and criminal gangs.”

Johnson explained that this force can carry out various operations, including hacking a mobile phone to prevent a terrorist from communicating with his colleagues, and to help prevent the use of the Internet as an area to commit serious crimes, in addition to preventing the targeting of British warplanes.

The statement indicated that the new plans would also improve the living conditions of the British people through smart technologies and ensure the safe use of the Internet.
