An explosion near the Corona test center in the Netherlands, and police believe it was a deliberate attack
Dutch police announced that an explosion struck a coronavirus testing center in a town north of Amsterdam shortly before its opening on Wednesday, causing windows to shatter, but did not result in injuries.
The police in the northern Netherlands region said in a statement that the explosion occurred in the town of Bovinkarspiel, pointing out that their personnel cordoned off the area for investigation.
And Mino Hartenberg, a police spokesman, pointed out that remnants of the explosion were found in front of the building in the form of a piece of metal measuring 10 square centimeters, adding that “the bomb must have been placed” there.
And he added, “Sometimes such matters do not happen by chance, they must be orchestrated.”
This incident comes shortly before a general election on March 17th, seen as a referendum on the government’s handling of the Corona pandemic.
