The US space agency, “NASA”, named a Martian rock “Moaz” or “Maz” during its archiving of the rocks discovered during its new spacecraft roaming on the surface of Mars.
The “NASA” mission team following the work of its new rover records and names all the rocks that the spacecraft detects on the surface of the Red Planet.
According to “CNN”, “NASA” released a strange name on one of the rocks discovered, which attracted the attention of observers, which called for clarification.
And “NASA” pointed out that the reason for the name is due to the use of the “Navajo” language to name the discovered Mars rocks, where the name means the rock by “Máaz” in the Navajo language “Mars.”
The team of the new American spacecraft “Perseverance”, in cooperation with “Navajo Nation”, names the discovered rocks and documents them for the purpose of the study.
It is common for NASA missions to give unofficial names to the landmarks in order to provide mission members with clues as to the various features of interest that are being discovered.”We hope that using our language on the Mars mission will inspire more of our Navajo youths to understand the importance of learning our language,” said Jonathan Neese, president of the linguistics company, Navajo Nation.

“Our words were used to help win World War II and learn more about Mars,” he added.
Welcome to “Máaz.”
My team is working with the Navajo Nation and @NNPrezNez, who are sharing their language to help us informally name features I’m exploring on Mars, like:

It is worth noting that the “Navajo” or “Navajo” language is one of the ancient indigenous American languages in which all residents of the western regions of America speak, and it is one of the southern Athabascan languages, and the “Navajo” tribe is the second largest federally recognized tribe in America.
