Italian police arrest an Algerian who helped militants in the 2015 Paris attack

Italian police have arrested an Algerian citizen in Bari, accused of participating in a militant group and aiding “terrorists” who carried out a series of attacks in Paris in November 2015.

According to the statement, the investigators proved his direct role in supporting the terrorists, and that this 36-year-old Algerian man provided forged documents to the perpetrators of the attacks.

In addition, the Algerian is accused of participating in a “terrorist group” operating in France and Belgium.

The accused remained in contact with ISIS “through his brothers and other members of the cell, and promised to provide forged documents and support concrete actions.”

It is reported that one of the group members was killed in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Paris, and the second is being held in a Belgian prison as a terrorist recruiter, and the identity of the others has yet to be determined. According to the police, they are working in Italy, Algeria, France, Belgium, Spain and Syria in tracing the other accused.
