A historic reception for the Pope in the Nineveh Plain, the oldest city in Iraq …

A large crowd of the Christian component welcomed the Pope, Pope Francis, today, Sunday, in the historic Nineveh Plain, the oldest city in northern Iraq.

The correspondent of “Sputnik” in Iraq reported that the atmosphere of joy with songs and crescents prevailed in the Qara Qosh district – Baghdeda, which includes a majority of the Christian component in Nineveh, northern Iraq, the moment the Pope of the Vatican held a mass in the Great Church of the Great in the presence of hundreds of Christians.
