Piers Morgan, an outspoken critic of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, has written a new column condemning the recent actions of the couple. In the lengthy opinion piece, the journalist highlights three of the pair’s “double standards”, which includes their frequent comments on climate change.
Mr Morgan wrote in the Daily Mail: “After the wedding, Meghan and Harry decided it was their job to now lecture the rest of us on how to lead our lives.
“They banged on about the environment whilst using private jets like taxis.
“They preached about poverty whilst throwing $500,00 baby showers in New York.
“They took millions in tax-payer cash to refurbish their gifted home Frogmore Cottage, then refused to release even basic details about their son Archie’s birth.”
It comes after a trailed of Meghan and Harry’s tell-all interview with US chat-show host Oprah Winfrey was shared.
The chat with Oprah has already been pre-recorded and is scheduled to air at 8pm ET on March 7 (March 8 at 1am GMT).
CBS has said the chat will touch upon a wide range of topics – including motherhood, Meghan’s arrival in the US, her life under the public eye and the Sussexes’ hopes for the future.
The prime time show was first said to last 90 minutes, but the programme will now last for two hours.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry filmed the CBS special with Oprah Winfrey at a friend’s house.
Two teaser clips for the bombshell interview were released yesterday, sending royal fans into frenzy and sparking speculation.
Initial rumours claimed the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex had been filmed in the garden of their $14.5 million Montecito mansion.
