Exemption of Lukashenko’s eldest son from the post of assistant to the president for national security affairs

Belarusian state media reported that President Alexander Lukashenko’s eldest son Victor was relieved of his position as assistant to the head of state for national security affairs.

The Belarusian “Belta Agency” indicated that “the decree was signed by the President of the Republic on the 26th of February,” noting that the exemption is linked to his transfer to an electoral office.
On February 26, the son of the head of state assumed the presidency of the National Olympic Committee, replacing his father Alexander Lukashenko, who had chaired the committee since 1997.

Victor has also held the position of Vice President of the National Oil Corporation since 2019.
