On Monday, a court in the French capital, Paris, convicted former French President Nicolas Sarkozy of corruption and abuse of influence, and sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment, including two years suspended.
On December 8, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested that 66-year-old Sarkozy, 4 years old, be imprisoned, half of it with effect, considering that the image of the French presidency “was damaged” by this case, which had “devastating effects.”
