A rare pot sells for hundreds of thousands of dollars after buying it for $ 35

After purchasing a small bowl for only $ 35, at a Connecticut yard, it turns out that it is actually an exceptionally rare Chinese artifact from the 15th century.

This blue and white artifact, which features lotus, peony, chrysanthemum and pomegranate motifs, dates back to the Ming Dynasty in China at the time.

The pot is expected to sell for up to $ 500,000 today, according to Sotheby’s in New York, where the auction is scheduled to take place next month.

The vessel was discovered last year near the American city of New Haven, in Connecticut.

While Sotheby’s did not reveal the identity of the owner, the head of the Chinese art department, Angela McCater, said that the man “did not bargain on the asking price of $ 35.”

Shortly after the purchase was made, pictures of the container were sent to auction professionals, who determined that it was a piece of historical interest.
