Turkey welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached by India and Pakistan to de-escalate the escalation along the borders of the disputed Kashmir region.
Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hami Aksoy, said in a statement: “We welcome the agreement of India and Pakistan Thursday, to cease fire along the borders of Kashmir and respect the relevant agreements.”
Aksoy considered the agreement an important step for establishing stability and security in the region, expressing at the same time his wishes that it would contribute to strengthening confidence and creating an environment for constructive dialogue between the two countries.
And on Thursday, the Indian and Pakistani armies announced their agreement on a ceasefire from midnight on February 24-25, with the aim of reducing the escalation along the borders of Kashmir.
