Sudan declares control of “all of its territories” on the Ethiopian borders

The Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council quoted Council member Yasser Al-Atta as saying on Saturday that the Sudanese Armed Forces have carried out their duty to extend control of “all our lands” on the eastern borders with Ethiopia, stressing that they will not waste any inch of the homeland.

Al-Atta added, in comments during a military sports gathering conveyed by the Transitional Council: “We are not hostiles, invaders, or advocates of war, but we have done our duty to extend our control over all our lands on the eastern borders,” stressing that “the transitional government bodies will work in coordination with the armed forces and other regular forces. On achieving the people’s choices in transition, peaceful democratic transition and building a modern civil state.

Al-Atta gave a detailed explanation of what he called “the facts confirming Sudan’s ownership of its lands on the eastern borders since 1902,” referring to border lands that cause tension with Ethiopia.
