Russia records first human case of H5N8 bird flu

Russia announced Saturday that its scientists discovered the first case of infection with the “H5N8” strain of bird flu to humans, and they informed the World Health Organization of this.

“The information about the world’s first human case of bird flu + H5N8 + in humans was sent to the World Health Organization,” said Anna Popova, head of the Russian Health Department “Rospotribnadzor,” in televised remarks.
