52

The NASA Perseverance probe has successfully landed on the surface of Mars at the end of a journey that has continued since last July.

The probe landed in the Jezero crater north of the equatorial line of Mars. It is now scheduled for NASA experts to ensure the safety of the probe equipment and systems, in a process expected to take several months.

It is noteworthy that the Atlas V rocket that carried the probe into space, launched from the space airport at Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA in July 2020. The probe covered more than 450 million kilometers during its journey.

It is planned that the probe will take soil samples, and a special device will be launched later that will transport the samples to the orbit of Mars, where another vehicle is scheduled to receive it in 2026, which will have to transport the samples to Earth in the thirties of the current century.
