The European Union takes into account Russia’s statements regarding relations with it

European Foreign Ministry spokesman Peter Stano announced that Europe has taken into account the comments of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the Kremlin regarding relations with the European Union.

Sputnik news agency quoted Stano’s remarks, who said, “We have taken into account Mr. Lavrov’s statements and the Kremlin’s explanations. Regardless of these statements, relations between the European Union and Russia are not good.

Stano added that the head of European Union diplomacy, Joseph Borrell, informed Lavrov about this matter, adding, “In this context, we support a relationship that is beneficial to both sides.”

Today, Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Moscow is ready to cut ties with the European Union only if the latter is the one initiating it.

And the Russian Foreign Ministry stated in its official statement:

“We are ready to cut ties if the European Union is the initiator.”

The Foreign Ministry added, “From our side, we call on the members of the European Union for equal cooperation and mutual respect, which is what Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.”
