Princess Eugenie gave birth to Andrew’s first grandchild

London: Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Eugenie, the great-granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, gave birth on Tuesday to a boy, who was Prince Andrew’s first grandchild.

The palace said in a statement that Eugenie “gave birth to a male baby today, February 9, 2021 at 8:55 am (local and GMT) at Portland Hospital” in central London.

The statement indicated that her husband, Jack Brooksbank, whom she married in October 2018 in Windsor, was present during the birth.

Princess Eugenie, 30, is one of the two daughters of Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, and Sarah Ferguson, and her parents are divorced.

The newborn, whose first name has not been specified, is the eleventh in the line of succession to the Queen, and the ninth child of her grandchildren.
