Cat Deeley unveils blonde hair transformation after bravely asking husband to dye her famous tresses at home

48

Cat Deeley’s hair has always been the topic of many conversations, which is why we were surprised to see that she let her husband, comedian Patrick Kielty, dye her famous tresses for her.

Clearly out of desperation and lack of salon access, Cat resorted to turning her North London pad into a swanky colouring suite instead of waiting weeks for an appointment.

The 44-year-old showed her amateur home hair colouring set-up with her Instagram followers earlier this week.

“Fernando is about to open his salon,” she jokingly refers to her husband, who can be seen wearing a plastic protective apron.

“We’re listening to Michael Ball and that is about to go on my head,” she continues, pointing the camera towards a bowl of blue-tinged hair dye.

Since a blue dye is usually a sign of bleach, it’s likely that Cat was looking to remove any dark roots that had started to peek through. Since bleach is also tricky to master at home without getting an orange-looking result, it makes the duo’s successful colouring attempt even more impressive.

The mum-of-two also makes light of the fact that becoming her very own colourist probably wasn’t on her husband’s agenda, considering Patrick celebrated his 50th birthday over the weekend and clearly had better things to do.

“It’s probably the greatest birthday I’ve ever had – especially with that filter,” he says, referring to the heart filter Cat chose to film the event in.

But it seems Cat was right to trust her husband for help in this matter as she just debuted her freshly-coloured lengths today – and the finished results are gorgeous.

Arriving for work at BBC Radio 2 this morning, the presenter wore her long blonde tresses in loose waves. Without a hint of a dark or grey root in sight, we can only assume that the home colouring session was a success.

Cat complemented the look with a chic ensemble. She opted for a cosy-looking patterned cardigan, a pair of tight leather-like jeans and heeled boots with statement silver buckles.

The star was all smiles as she removed her black face covering to pose for cameras – and with hair like that, what’s not to smile about?
