“Diaries of the Siege” won the Russian Film “Golden Eagle” award

The film “Siege Diaries”, directed by Andrei Zaitsev, won the Russian Film “Golden Eagle” award, which was held at the awarding ceremony Friday, January 22nd in Moscow.

The film also won the “Best Screenplay” category. The actress, Olga Osulapinya, who played the lead role in the film, was awarded the “Best Female Role” award.

It is noteworthy that the film “Siege Diaries” was inspired by the books of Olga Bergholts, “Alice Adamovich” and “Daniel Granin” about the tragedy of the siege of Leningrad (1941-1944) during the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet people against Nazi Germany. Leningrad (Petersburg) who were killed by German bombing and starvation during the siege.

This film previously won the Grand Prize at the Moscow Film Festival, which was held in the fall of 2020 in Moscow.

The film “Dear Comrades” directed by Andrei Konchalovsky won the award for “Best Film Directing.” The award for “Best Male Role” was awarded to the actor, Yuri Borisov, who played a key role in the movie “Kalashnikov” about the famous Soviet machine gun designer.

British film director, Sam Mands, won the “Best Foreign Film” award for directing “1917”.
