She has been inspiring her 9.5 million Instagram followers over the past year with her dedication to a healthier lifestyle.
Now, Rebel Wilson has revealed a commendable body confidence trick she’s adopted during her weight loss journey.
The 40-year-old actress – who recently revealed she has shed 30kg since calling 2020 her ‘Year of Health’ – encouraged her fans to stop weighing themselves.
In a new post, she shared a snap of herself wearing a dressing gown, with a set of scales visible in the reflection of a mirror.
Captioning the snap, the star wrote: “Rather than step on the scale, look at yourself in the mirror and be like ‘dammmm girrrrrl… you’re smart and talented and accomplished and perfect just the way you are.’”
The piece of self-esteem-boosting advice went down well with social media users who left more than 180,000 ‘likes’.
One person wrote: “I love this!”
Another commented: “Well I needed that more today than I’d like to admit.”
A third shared: “Thank you, Rebel. This needs to be on every girl’s bathroom mirror!!”
And a fourth added: “Love you, you are GORGEOUS!!!”
While research has found that weighing yourself regularly can help with weight loss motivation, other studies have suggested it can also harm body image by encouraging people to become too fixated on the metrics.
Late last year, Wilson revealed she has arrived at her goal weight of 75kg – and is transitioning “more into like a maintenance phase”.
In a video shared to Instagram announcing the news, Wilson said: “So I can eat a bit more, now that I’m – now that I’ve hit my goal weight and I’m ‘maintaining’.”
The star has credited luxury medical centre VivaMayr in Austria for helping her get to the finish line.
She has insisted that she has been achieving her weight loss safely and sustainably through eating healthily and exercising.
This has included high-intensity workouts with her Australian personal trainer Jono Castano Acero.
In August, in an Instagram posts that showed off her slimmer figure for the first time, she updated fans on her progress.
The star wrote: “Thanks for all the love so far on my ‘Year of Health’ journey – when I was reaching for the candies last night after dinner I thought to myself ‘hmmmm… better not’ and had a bottle of water instead.

“8kgs to go until I hit my goal – hopefully I can do it by the end of the year.”
