On Tuesday, 150 immigrants from sub-Saharan Africa tried to breach the border fence surrounding the Spanish enclave of Melilla in northern Morocco, 87 of whom managed to cross, while 36 were arrested in Morocco.
The Melilla municipality spokesman said that 87 of the migrants had succeeded in entering Spain, despite the intervention of Moroccan and Spanish security forces.
For his part, a source in the local authorities of the city of Nador, adjacent to the Spanish enclave in northern Morocco, stated that “36 out of about 200 immigrants have been arrested, while the others have fled.”
