The Russian Embassy in Ankara said that Ambassador Alexei Yerukhin sent a message to the Union of Turkish Doctors about ignoring the “Sputnik V” vaccine in the report “Vaccines – A Shared Value for All Living Things” prepared by the Union.
In the message, the ambassador expressed his surprise that the list of vaccines included in the report did not contain the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Coronavirus, which was the first vaccine in the world to be registered at the national level.
The message added: “It is unclear, on the basis of which lists or classifications this list was drawn up.
The ambassador stressed that the “Sputnik V” vaccine, as well as the vaccines mentioned in the “Turkish Doctors Union” list, has an effectiveness of more than 90%, and the Russian vaccine provides full protection against serious cases of Covid-19 disease.
The Russian ambassador indicated that the effectiveness, safety, and no long-term complications or negative effects of the adenovirus vaccine and the “Sputnik V” vaccine have already been proven, and it was produced on the basis of well studied and verified human adenovirus vectors, which has been proven in more than 250 clinical studies over two decades. Among the unconditional advantages of the aforementioned Russian vaccine is that it is preserved and stored at temperatures from +2 to +8 ° C, which makes it possible to keep it in a regular refrigerator without the need for additional spending on other refrigerants.
Ambassador Yerukhin expressed hope that the Union of Turkish Doctors would be able to properly evaluate Russia’s efforts in the field of designing and developing vaccines against the Corona virus.
He said: “All this indicates that Sputnik V has received wide recognition and appreciation on the part of specialists in the world, and therefore it does not appear to be a correct behavior, ignoring it and not mentioning it among other vaccines. We believe that it is not permissible in this matter, to put any political or economic considerations higher than In the interest of protecting the health of citizens, we sincerely hope that the Turkish Doctors Union will find the opportunity to appropriately evaluate the important efforts of our country, which have been harnessed to develop vaccines in the world.
