Biden has trouble with Twitter after the “new page”

US President-elect Joe Biden has launched a new account on Twitter, but a special action from Twitter could cause him to lose millions of followers on the famous site.

Biden’s account had more than 725,000 followers within hours.

Biden posted his first tweet on his new account on Friday, where he wrote: “People, this will be the account of my official duties as President .. At 12:01 pm on January 20, the account name will change to POTUS. Until then, I will use my Joe Biden account.” .

The term POTUS is used to abbreviate the title of President of the United States of America.

The official presidential account “POTUS”, which Biden will inherit on January 20, has 33 million followers, but that number is likely to decrease due to the cancellation of follow-ups by the millions, by supporters of US President Trump.

Twitter said last month that the presidential account would not maintain followers when the president was changed, but rather would offer the choice to remain as a follower or not to follow the account, for each of those followers, on Biden’s inauguration day.

This could mean Biden losing millions of followers on Twitter, and he may find it difficult to get the same amount of followers compared to Trump.

It is reported that during his next presidency, Biden will use two accounts on Twitter, the first is his original account in the name of Joe Biden, and the second is the new presidential account, which he inherited from Trump.
