The commander of the “Fatemiyoun” Brigade, affiliated with Iran, denied the validity of media reports regarding the killing of a number of Afghan fighters in the Israeli raids that targeted sites in Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria, at dawn yesterday, Wednesday.
The commander of the “Fatemiyoun” brigade said in statements to the Iranian “Tasnim” agency today, Thursday, that “the Zionist fighters targeted, in their recent air strikes, sites of the Syrian army on the road between Deir Ezzor and Albu Kamal, which led to the death of a number of Syrian army officers.”
He stressed that despite the Western media campaigns, “Fatemiyoun” sites were not targeted and no Afghan fighters were killed during this raid.
Ahad Khani, a political aide to the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, said that the Israeli attack on the Deir Ezzor and Albu Kamal sites did not result in casualties.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in Britain, stated that the raids targeted sites, outposts, and ammunition and weapons depots of the Syrian army, the Lebanese Hezbollah, Iranian forces and the armed factions loyal to them, headed by the “Fatemiyoun” Brigade, which resulted, according to the latest statistics of the observatory In addition, 57 people were killed and wounded, among the aforementioned forces.
